Toyota's all-new 2025 4Runner is a reinvention of this iconic SUV's off-road legacy, blending renowned dependability with modern comforts made possible by advanced technology. With a new and striking angular design, the sixth-generation 4Runner pays homage to its heritage while embracing contemporary innovation and comprehensive engineering advancements.
The exterior silhouette conveys a bold and rugged personality that stays true to the 4Runner's off-road heritage while incorporating modern design elements. Inspired by Baja desert racing, it projects an aggressive stance, with wide fender flares that emphasize its go-anywhere capability. Signature motifs, such as wrap-over quarter glass and a roll-down rear window, remain hallmarks of the 4Runner formula, while sleek LED lighting and a sculpted front grille add a contemporary edge. Select models include off-road-focused features like skid plates, roof racks and 33-inch all-terrain tires, making them stand out both on and off the trail.
Built on Toyota's TNGA-F truck platform shared with the larger Land Cruiser and Sequoia SUVs, the 2025 4Runner improves ride comfort and on-road performance without sacrificing strength and rigidity. Its new steel ladder frame is paired with multi-link coil rear suspension and double wishbone front suspension, ensuring exceptional off-road capability for navigating rugged terrain with confidence. Combined with i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrains, the 4Runner offers enhanced driving dynamics and an impressive towing capacity of up to 6,000 pounds.
Available in eight distinct trims - from carryover options like the SR5, to new additions such as Trailhunter and Platinum - the 2025 4Runner is equipped with two new turbocharged 2.4-litre powertrain options. The standard i-FORCE powertrain delivers 278 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque, while the hybrid i-FORCE MAX variant produces up to 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque for enhanced performance.
The 2025 Toyota 4Runner expands its legacy by offering a diverse lineup that caters to a wide range of drivers, from weekend adventurers to those seeking everyday versatility. Pricing starts at $54,200 CAD for the SR5 trim, with the i-FORCE MAX Platinum topping the range at $73,698 CAD. As the 4Runner family grows, it continues to deliver the toughness and reliability that have made it an off-road legend for generations.
